Europol searches the apartment of the young Albanian, suspected of child

An internationally coordinated operation against the sexual exploitation of minors on the internet has led to a search of the apartment of a 29-year-old Albanian citizen, suspected of involvement in criminal activities related to child pornography.

The codenamed “Stream” operation, led by the Bavarian State Criminal Police and supported by EUROPOL, was carried out with the participation of law enforcement agencies from 35 countries. The State Police participated in the investigations that led to the uncovering of the suspected involvement of citizen MZ, a resident of Tirana, in this illegal activity.

After receiving information from German authorities and Europol, the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate of the State Police launched investigations and referred the materials to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, which registered proceedings for the criminal offense of "Minor Pornography".

As part of the investigation, a court order was executed to conduct searches at the 29-year-old's apartment, where 3 mobile phones and 1 laptop were seized. The seized devices have been sent for further examination by cybercrime specialists.

Investigations continue to fully document the criminal activity, and authorities are committed to uncovering all connections and other facts related to this illegal activity.
