Judges requested a €700 salary increase, 'Constitution' reacts:

The Constitutional Court has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statement yesterday regarding the judges' union's request for a 700 euro salary increase.

The Constitutional Court emphasizes in a media release that its decisions may be subject to criticism, however, any form of influence is unacceptable.

"Taking into account the positions and reactions recently published in the media and on social networks by representatives of other powers, including the executive branch, as well as the media itself, the Constitutional Court assures the public and the parties to the proceedings that it is independent in the exercise of its constitutional function and is not influenced by them in its activity or decision-making.

"The Constitutional Court takes the opportunity to reiterate that its decisions may be subject to criticism, however, any form of influence is unacceptable, as is any attempt to question its authority and reputation, even in appearance, which would violate the very fundamental principles of the rule of law and that of the separation and balance between powers ," the Constitutional Court emphasizes.
