Albanian-Macedonian sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbery in Tetovo,

An Albanian-Macedonian, internationally wanted and sentenced in his country to 12 years in prison for the crime of robbery, was arrested today (June 13) by the State Police, while hiding in Durrës.

Officers were able to locate and arrest Ermir Sadiki, 37, a resident of Tetovo, North Macedonia.  

 "The operation, by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Operational Force services of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, was based on information exchanged between FAST Albania and FAST North Macedonia," official sources said.  

Sadiki was declared an international wanted person after the Basic Court of Tetovo sentenced him in absentia to 12 years in prison for the criminal offense of "robbery with violence", as provided for by the Criminal Code of North Macedonia.

According to the investigative file, in February 2023, Ermir Sadiki entered an apartment in the village of Prshovcë, Tetovo, at night, where he physically attacked the owner of the apartment, causing him serious injuries and taking a large amount of money.   

The State Police explained that procedures are ongoing to extradite this citizen to North Macedonia.
