Revenge warned/ Iran raises red flag over mosque, consequence of Israeli attacks

Tensions between Iran and Israel are reaching another peak as the red flag, a symbol of revenge and war, was raised over the Jamkaran Mosque in the holy city of Qom. The move came minutes after Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed "severe punishment" for Israel after a wave of attacks that have killed several Iranian officials.

According to international media, Iranian authorities use the red flag in rare and extreme cases, as a signal that the country is ready to respond militarily. This has been seen as a direct message to Israel and its allies.

Hundreds of citizens gathered in the premises near the Jamkaran Mosque, where they chanted for "punishment" and "revenge," condemning the Israeli attacks that are believed to have targeted important targets inside Iranian territory.

"We will not remain silent. Israel has committed a grave crime against our nation and they must expect a severe punishment," Khamenei declared in a live address.

The raising of the red flag reinforces warnings that the Islamic Republic could launch a direct and potentially dangerous counterattack in the region, sparking concerns about a major military escalation in the Middle East.

The situation remains tense and the international community is following developments with concern.
