Taxes set reference salaries for tourism, waiter's salary no less than 70

The Tax Administration has published the reference salary list for 45 professions in the tourism sector, for the 2025 tourist season. According to the published list, the minimum salary for waiters in restaurants, bars and hotels should not be less than 70,000 lek per month.

Reference salaries start at 55,000 lek for positions such as beach cleaning workers or parking attendants and reach 130,000 to 140,000 lek for head chefs, pastry chefs or other senior positions in the service chain.

Professions included in the list include: cashiers, bartenders, waiters, pastry chefs, lifeguards, assistant chefs, maintenance workers, and many others.

According to Taxes, taxpayers who declare salaries below the reference level for the respective profession will be considered high risk and will be subject to in-depth checks by the Tax Administration.

In the context of implementing the 2025 tourism sector plan and reducing wage informality, the Tax Administration emphasizes that it will control all taxpayers whose declared wages are below the indicative wages published on the official website of the tax administration./ Monitor
