Albanian immigrant pulled them out of the river, the two children couldn't

The two children who fell into the Arachthos River in Arta on Wednesday (May 11) have suffered clinical death.

In the river where the two students fell, their friends left flowers, while Albanian immigrant Levian Goga was also found there, who dived into the water to pull the children out, reports Protothema.gr.

"We will remember you forever, you escaped as heroes," reads the note left by the friends of the two minors at the scene of the tragedy.

The 14-year-old and his 12-year-old friend stayed underwater for 20 minutes, until the Albanian immigrant managed to pull them out of the water.

It took another 30 minutes to take them to the Arta hospital, where doctors fought a "battle" to bring them back to life.

They were then transferred to a Rio hospital where they were treated in intensive care in critical condition. Approximately two days after falling into the river, despite the efforts of doctors, the children became brain dead.
