Among those killed are passengers on the flight and people who were inside the BJ Medical College and Hospital dormitory when the plane crashed into it.

"Approximately 294 have died. This includes some students after the plane crashed into the building where they were staying," Vidhi Chaudhary, a senior state police officer, told Reuters.

Earlier on Thursday, Swapnil Bhalodia of the Indian Medical Association's Medical Students Network said at least three medical students had died in the accident and 30 others were injured.
