Benet Beci, defendant by SPAK, Bardhi: He seriously compromises SPAK, he should

The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after the publication of the document proving that the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, was officially charged before the elections, for committing the criminal offense of "Violation of equality of participants in public tenders or auctions", in collaboration.

Through a reaction on social media, Bardhi writes that concealing this information compromises the integrity of the Special Prosecution Office.

According to Bardhi, there is no reason for Beci to have a special status from other public officials who have been indicted, while calling for SPAK to investigate affairs in the energy sector, where 'various' data leads to Minister Belinda Balluku.

"The fact that the mayor of Shkodra was indicted by the Special Prosecution Office in October 2024 is information that should have been shared with the public. Concealing this information, unlike what has been done with any other case, seriously compromises the integrity of the Special Prosecution Office. There is no reason for Benet Beci to have a special status from other public officials who have been indicted. The affairs in the energy sector are diverse and SPAK, which is Minister Belinda Balluku.

Today, the media also referred to information from the Special Prosecution Office that a serving minister is a person under investigation by it. This means that the minister has been notified of this procedural position, information that should also have been shared with the public. The application of the law with certain standards by SPAK, and the sharing of information with the public selectively, does not serve to increase public trust in justice and seriously damages the reputation of SPAK, "  writes Bardhi.
