The Vice President of the Freedom Party, Erisa Xhixho, raised concerns this Friday about the political and electoral situation in the country.

During her speech at the European Affairs Committee, Xixho emphasized that the European integration process cannot move forward without free elections and functional institutions.

Xixho accused the government of political use of the administration and state resources during the elections. According to her, changing real standards for citizens is essential for true EU integration.

Xixho's full reaction

During my speech at the European Affairs Committee, I emphasized that:
• Without free and fair elections, we are very far from the European integration process. Citizens were not free to choose on May 11!
• Public administration was massively used in the function of the Renaissance.
• The government used the pension bonus and the forgiveness of fines, in violation of the electoral law.
• We as Parliament have turned into a government ministry, the accountability and controlling role of Parliament is missing.
This process must first change the real standards of citizens and not remain on paper for the sake of integration. Our commitment is maximum. Guaranteeing European standards in the country, so that Albanian citizens do not emigrate en masse as they have done in recent years, is the reason that should guide us in this process!
