Inside the food war in Gaza/ The touching story of two young people defying

While the Israeli blockade on food distribution in Gaza has brought about a deep humanitarian crisis, two young men are becoming a symbol of resistance and trying to survive in extreme conditions.

Salem Madhat Alaydi, a resident of northern Gaza, says he walks for more than an hour every day to arrive at a canteen that once provided a single meal for his family of seven. "It was like a lifeline for us," he says, recalling the moment the place closed at the end of May, leaving them with no other source of food.

Meanwhile, near Gaza City, Aya Ehab Zaid, a young girl who has been displaced more than 15 times due to bombing and insecurity, runs a "kitchen of the poor". She uses donations that come to her via the internet to cook and share food with families affected by hunger. "I will not stop. This is my community and they need me," she said firmly.

According to aid agencies, Gaza faces the real threat of a large-scale famine, after more than 80 days of blockade on the entry of humanitarian and food aid, which only ended in mid-May.

Footage and testimonies from the ground provide a chilling insight into the daily struggle for survival, where hope and solidarity have become the strongest weapons of ordinary people.
