Powerful explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Iran attacks with over 100

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were rocked by powerful explosions this evening after Iran launched a barrage of over 100 rockets towards Israeli territory.

International media are reporting a large column of smoke rising in central Tel Aviv, where buildings shook from the force of the explosions.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the barrage of ballistic missiles came directly from Iran, while air defenses were activated to neutralize the threat.

The Israeli military repeated its urgent call for citizens to stay in bomb shelters until further notice.

AFP journalists also report loud explosions in Jerusalem, where air raid alarms have been heard.
