Fruit powder originating from Turkey has been imported into our country, containing a pigment dangerous to human health (reactive red 141).

The Greek state has issued the alarm after analyses conducted on the product 'RED FOREST FRUIT CAKE'.

Unauthorized pigment (reactive red 141) is a synthetic dye used primarily for dyeing textiles, especially cotton and natural fibers.

This pigment is strictly prohibited from use in food and cosmetic products.

This harmful dye is mainly used in sweets and cakes to give them their red color.

Unauthorized pigment is hazardous to health if ingested and can cause toxic problems.

After notification from the Greek authorities, the AKU went to the field for inspection and blocked the remaining quantity in the entities that were using this product.

According to the AKU announcement, "RED FOREST FRUIT CAKE" (fruit mixture), had a 15kg package and the expiration date was until May 2026.

The AKU announcement also emphasizes that this product poses a risk with a potentially serious impact on human health./ Ora News
