Tragedy in Kurbin/ Fire engulfs pig barn, 450 pigs burned alive

A serious incident occurred during the night in the village of Fushë-Gjormë in Kurbin, where a powerful fire engulfed a pig barn, causing the death of approximately 450 heads and extensive material damage.

According to preliminary data from the police, the stable was completely burned down and the flames left nothing to be saved. The farm where the incident occurred is owned by citizen Petrit Ndreca.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to neutralize the flames, while the investigation team immediately began verifications to clarify the circumstances. The exact causes of the fire are still unknown, while pyrotechnic expertise is awaited to determine the origin of the flames.

Preliminary estimates of the damage are in the tens of thousands of euros, given the large number of dead animals and completely destroyed infrastructure.
