Diaspora Vote/ DP denounces scandal: Envelopes were withdrawn from tobacco
Genta Vangjeli

The Democratic Party's Anti-Corruption Spokesperson, Genta Vangjeli, has denounced another case of electoral fraud this Saturday. In a statement to the media, Vangjeli said that envelopes for the diaspora vote were distributed in tobacco shops.

Vangjeli also shared some footage that allegedly proved this scandal. She says that citizens' addresses were in "tabachinos", and envelopes were being picked up and delivered to these premises.

The full statement of the Gospel

At the press conference on June 10, the Head of the CEC, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi, stated without any fear that the external voting process was carried out in a model manner... and the distribution of envelopes in the Greek state did not compromise the process in terms of the way it was organized or its integrity...

The implementation of contract no. 1358/20 dated April 4, 2025 concluded between the CEC and the contractor DHL requires the implementation of completely different conditions than those presented in the following images…

The photos that have just arrived at our address have come from citizens who live in Greece and voted in this country, who declare that they withdrew and delivered the envelopes with the ballots to warehouses where cigarettes are sold and not only….

This was the model process according to Mr. Celibashi, where citizens' addresses are in "tabachinos", and envelopes are withdrawn and delivered to these facilities.

Regarding voting in Greece, I still don't have an answer as to why DHL doesn't provide proof of envelope delivery to every voter in the diaspora, in Italy, the United States or the United Kingdom...

According to Mr. Celibashi, the CEC's responsibility ends with selecting the operator with the best reputation for the least money, as well as building a good contract which is still in implementation.

Mr. Celibashi should be aware that the responsibility of the CEC begins with the procurement procedure, its implementation, the conclusion and full and successful implementation of the contract, including the good management of public funds.

And since the contract is still in the implementation phase, take the measures provided for in the legal acts and in the respective contract against those responsible for the failure to fulfill contractual obligations...
