Over 1 kg of drugs hidden under the passenger seat, Italian police arrest

Rapid operation by the Italian police in the Valera area. Attention was drawn to a car in front of them: the two occupants, near a roundabout, made two complete turns, trying to avoid a possible check.

Suspicious, the carabinieri ordered the vehicle to stop. The driver was a 46-year-old Albanian, already aggravated by previous drug convictions.

Hidden under the passenger seat was a vacuum-wrapped block of cocaine: 1 kilogram and 140 grams of cocaine.

In the couple's home, northwest of the city, 1,700 euros were found on a mattress, while in the basement there was an envelope containing 20,000 euros in cash and a vacuum packaging machine, which was apparently used to package the drugs.

In another car owned by both, 10 grams of cocaine were also found. After evaluating the arrest, the investigating judge ordered that the 46-year-old be held in prison and the young man be kept under house arrest.
