After several hours, the fire that engulfed a forest area in Qeparo this afternoon has been completely extinguished.

The flames spread rapidly due to difficult terrain and strong winds, creating a direct threat to homes and an oil refinery.

Air intervention was also required to extinguish the flames.

 The Air Force Black Hawk helicopter was involved in the operation, which played a key role in dealing with the active fire, while firefighting vehicles, MZSH agents, and forest service employees were engaged in the field.
