The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to dismiss the criminal case for "defamation" and "insult" filed by lawyer Romeo Kara against Freedom Party MP Monika Kryemadhi.
According to the decision of Judge Flora Hajredinaj, number 40, dated 11.06.2025, the criminal case with no. 98 of the register of 2025 was dismissed. This case had as its subject the request for trial filed by Romeo Kara on May 9, 2025, in which he accused Kryemadhi of the criminal offenses of "Insult" and "Public Defamation", provided for by articles 119/2 and 120/2 of the Criminal Code.
Neither the plaintiff nor the defendant appeared at the recent court hearing, which appears to have influenced the decision to dismiss the case. The court also decided that the plaintiff, Romeo Kara, should bear the legal costs.
The decision may be appealed within 15 days to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, starting from the day after the notification of the reasoned decision.
