Murder of 22-year-old Albanian woman, Filipino boyfriend arrested

The main suspect in the murder is her boyfriend, Mark Samson, a 23-year-old of Filipino origin, who has been arrested by Italian authorities.

According to preliminary investigations, he is suspected of stabbing Ilaria in his apartment in the Africano neighborhood of Rome, and then attempting to hide her body.

Police discovered that Samson used Ilaria's phone after the murder, sending messages and posting on social media to create the idea that she was still alive. This detail helped authorities uncover the truth and put Samson at the center of the investigation.
