The big cat, abandoned and forgotten in a small asylum...

It is paradoxical how in Albania, great artists are honored with titles, awards, and medals, and then abandoned, forgotten as if they had never existed.

The case of "People's Artist", Tinka Kurti, honored with awards and titles for her contribution to Albanian theater and cinematography, is shocking.

In a surprise on the 'Big Brother' reality show, the Albanian public discovered a sad truth about one of the icons of cinema.

The eldest Tinka has been abandoned and forgotten in a nursing home.

As the great artist herself called it, her abandonment is a tragedy. In Tinka's words and face, sadness was clearly visible, as an artist honored with the "Great Master of Work" medal, today lives in a small asylum.

"I had a lot of problems because I had this other fate that I came to this house that you can see is a miracle, but for me it was a tragedy and I wanted to leave the next day as soon as possible. But now I say I will never leave again because there are wonderful people here, there is a very beautiful environment here ," said actress Tinka Kurti.

Entire generations have grown up with Tinka, with Tana who broke the taboo with the first kiss ever made in an Albanian film. They have grown up with the image of the suffering Mother Pashako who did not surrender to the invaders.

But, today, the great Tinka is left forgotten in a small asylum, because the Albanian state has chosen not to care for artists who have written history in cinematography and everywhere. Tinka is in asylum because the state knows how to appreciate them with medals when they are alive and with homages after they leave this life.

The great Tinka faced the indifference of an entire society, the lack of care from the state to which he contributed, which the latter often sees as 'charity'.

Preserving art assets, and not only that, taking care of an artist who, even at an advanced age, has made endless contributions to Albanian art, is an obligation and a gratitude.

It is time for the state and society to understand that artists like the great Tinka should be honored yesterday, today and forever, for their precious values, inexhaustible contribution and the gratitude they show for the Albanian state, even when they have been abandoned.

Today, it is a shame that a great actress like Tinka is left abandoned in a nursing home.

And if this is done with great people like Tinka, what do we expect to be done for others?
