The proper way of washing ensures that hair is healthier, shinier and stronger.
Most of us follow this process when washing our hair, simply applying shampoo, rubbing it in for a bit, and rinsing, believing that this is the best way to clean it. However, this method may not be as effective as we think and may have adverse effects on the health of our hair.
The most common mistake we make is applying shampoo to the entire length of our hair, starting from the roots to the ends, without taking into account the nature of the different parts of the hair. According to experts, after all, proper hair care starts from the scalp and not from the ends.
The reason for this is simple, the scalp is where sebum concentrates. When we cleanse the roots effectively, the scalp remains healthy and strong, while the hair remains fresh and less oily.
In contrast, the lengths and ends of the hair, which are often drier, do not need additional soap, as the shampoo that is rinsed from the scalp naturally removes dirt and excess oil from the rest of the hair.
The proper procedure for a healthy result is to apply shampoo only to the scalp and roots and let it run through the hair while rinsing. The ends of the hair, which are more sensitive and dry, do not need additional soap, as they can become drier and more brittle if over-cleansed.
Therefore, the number 1 secret to healthy, shiny hair is not just frequent shampooing along the entire length, but focusing on the scalp.
