"She was an angel", through tears, Ilaria Sula's father seeks

With deep pain and tears in his eyes, the father of Ilaria Sula, the 22-year-old Albanian woman who was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend in Italy, demanded justice at the funeral ceremony held in Terni. Flamur Sula, in an emotional statement, said that his daughter did not deserve this tragic end and that the perpetrator should receive the maximum punishment.

"He should rot in prison. We said goodbye for the last time to my daughter Ilaria, who is now up in heaven. She did not deserve this end because she was truly a golden child, an angel," he said through tears.

The 22-year-old Albanian woman was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, a Filipino citizen, who after the crime put her body in a suitcase and threw it into a ravine. The event shocked Italian and Albanian public opinion.

The funeral ceremony at the Terni cemetery was attended by more than three thousand citizens, among them the Mayor of Terni, Stefano Bandecchi, who strongly condemned the macabre act.

"Ilaria found a devil in her path, a man unworthy of being called a man," Bandecchi said, while guaranteeing that justice must act without mercy for such a terrible act.

Ilaria's family hopes that Italian justice will not make empty promises, but show that the murders of girls will not be tolerated.
