The DP-ASHM candidate in Korça, Bledjon Nallbati, has reacted through a public statement regarding the incident that occurred yesterday evening, where he and his brother were involved in a confrontation with the driver of a heavy tonnage vehicle.

Nallbati stated that he should have shown more restraint, but stressed that there was no use of violence. The Democrat said that the event was used unilaterally for political purposes.

"I am a man before I am a politician. I accept responsibly that emotion prevailed, but there was no intentional violence. I condemn any form of violence, whether verbal or physical. You have only seen partial, incomplete images. It is not true that we blocked the truck's path. We were traveling from Kapshtica towards the city and at a roundabout with an unpaved pothole, our vehicle slowed down to avoid danger. The truck was coming from behind at speed, risking a collision ," declared Nallbati.

He explained that after the vehicle stopped, his brother, who was driving, got out to explain the situation and then got out himself. Nallbati said that the truck driver had erupted in insults. He also had criticism for the State Police.

"We called the police to clarify the situation. The parties signed statements that they had no claims against each other, but by political order from Minister Niko Peleshi, the case was transferred to Korça and an unfounded accusation was raised against us. I have information that the director of the Korça District Police was summoned and suspended the chief of the police station and the chief of crimes. I invite the justice institutions to act without political influence and to truly investigate this event ," concluded Nallbati.
