Fuga: Journalism in Albania today in severe crisis

Professor and academic Artan Fuga believes that journalism today is in crisis and that the media market has become overly monopolized.

In an interview with Ora News, he said that this is a very strong crisis that comes for several reasons, starting with the sources of information that have grown in an extraordinary way.

Fuga : I don't know if we will have a good law or not because several phases will pass until the law is made. But first, I want to clarify that I am not part of the expertise that deals with this process and I see it as an interested person, as a mass communication lecturer and part of the journalism and communication department.

But having said this to position myself, I am outside this process personally, I want to say that I welcome the fact that the Council of Europe and the EU delegation have thought of including and engaging in this process the journalism and communication department of the University of Tirana, where there are intellectuals, researchers, professors of different generations, and young people who have been and some of them have journalism experience, to put the dots on those elements that are missing.

The real state of journalism today, in my opinion, is in crisis. It is a very strong crisis that comes for several reasons. The media and information market is very fragmented. The sources of information have grown in an extraordinary way.
