The recount of 587 ballot boxes in Fier begins today, will Zegjineja retain her

Today, the Central Election Commission will begin the process of recounting ballots for the Fier region.

As of 09:00, at the "Farie Hoti" Sports Palace in the capital, the opening of 587 ballot boxes has begun to check the accuracy of the initial results in this district that produces 16 seats in Parliament.

 In Fier, the Democratic Party received 4 mandates, compared to the 12 won by the Socialists.

The recount is vital for two new political forces if errors in the counting or validity of votes are proven. Adriatik Lapaj's "Albania Becomes" initiative lost its mandate by about 500 votes, and if Azmer Dulević wins these votes during the recount, he will become an MP.

This means that the SP could lose a mandate, and in this case Zegjine Çaushi would remain outside parliament.

Zegjine Çaushi risks her mandate not only from outside the party, but also within the SP, after winning with only 64 votes more than her rival within the party, Maldrita Bardhos.

The "Opportunity" party also needs to secure at least 519 votes from the recount and take one MP from the SP to enter parliament.

It remains to be seen what the results of the recount process in the Fier region will be.
