Democratic MP Saimir Korreshi stated that the manipulation and deformation of the will of citizens in the Fier region began before May 11.

In a statement given to Syri TV, he said that over the last 6 months, state structures and administrative units have been put at the service of the Socialist Party, carrying out identification and pressure on citizens to illegally secure votes.

"The corruption that has been committed during the last 6 months in the Fier region is unprecedented. These have been denounced not only during the month of the electoral campaign, but throughout the entire last 6-month period. The administrative units have all been put at the service of the Socialist Party, turning into patronage agents, identifiers and conducting a kind of internal census, all with Albanian money.

The sole purpose was to identify and capture citizens. It was impossible to obtain a building permit, whether for a fence or a roof, without first giving a promise of a vote. In cases where they did not trust, they went so far as to take away identity cards.

Now, at this point, we are waiting to see how much they have stolen from each other. I think most of the real vote manipulation and theft took place during these 6 months before May 11th.

The Democratic Party has not only requested a recount, but has requested the invalidity of the process. The main request has been the annulment of the elections, since on May 11 we did not have a fair competition, but a huge electoral farce.

I am present here to follow every vote of every citizen of Fier. I believe that the ballot boxes of Fier will bring more 'surprises'.

"I am more interested than anything else in this 'battering' that has been done to Albanians. Today, those who received 20 thousand lek for a vote have begun to understand that what is being built is a dictatorial state ," declared Korreshi.
