Lezha/ Police impose 3165 administrative measures, handcuff 19 drivers

Traffic Police Services have increased their readiness and vigilance, with the aim of meeting safety parameters, preventing road accidents and managing traffic due to the increased flow of vehicles during the summer season.

They also continuously monitor road axes, with modern logistics equipment, logged and unlogged, with the aim of identifying violations that are the source of accidents, as well as incorrect parking that becomes an obstacle to traffic.

During the month of June, 19 drivers were arrested, 9 of them for drunk driving and 10 for driving without a license.

Also, a total of 3165 drivers were administratively punished, specifically:

680, for speeding beyond the permitted speed limits;

1187, for wrongful overtaking;

 122, for using a mobile phone while driving;

 113, for not wearing a protective helmet;

100, for not wearing a seat belt;

 36, for driving after consuming alcoholic beverages;

 399, for wrong parking

528, for various violations of the Highway Code.

Increased police checks will continue on all urban, interurban and rural road axes, using all modern logistical means, with the aim of meeting road safety parameters.

The Lezha Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to strictly enforce traffic rules, not to overtake illegally, not to use mobile phones and not to drive under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated.
