The Saranda Police have finalized the "Silent Crossing" operation, within the framework of which a case of illegal trafficking of vessels from Greece to Albania was discovered and documented.

The operation took place following a report made by a Greek citizen, who reported that during the night of June 28, two boats, a dinghy and a speedboat, had been stolen from him on the island of Corfu.

He suspected that these vehicles had been trafficked into Albanian territory.

Following investigations conducted under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, it was possible to arrest in flagrante delicto the citizen DD, 23 years old, resident of Gjashtë, Saranda.

Three other people are also wanted:

AK, 48 years old, resident of Tepelena

According to data from the investigative group, the four above-mentioned citizens are suspected of having participated in the theft of two vessels in Corfu and then trafficking them to Albania, specifically to Saranda.

During the checks carried out following the operation, one of the stolen boats was found hidden in a plot of land in the village of Vrion, Finiq municipality. The vehicle was seized as material evidence, along with a truck that is suspected of being used to transport the vehicles from the coast to the plot.

The police continue their work to apprehend the wanted persons, as well as to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
