Assets worth 12 million euros seized from cocaine trafficking organization

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK, announced on Saturday the seizure of dozens of real estate properties owned by Elvis Doçi and other individuals accused of being collaborators in drug trafficking, or persons associated with them. According to SPAK, in the continuation of the property investigation of 52 members of the Durrës-based cocaine trafficking criminal organization, as well as the assets of persons associated with them, it has been possible to identify and seize 21 other real estate properties, units or plots of land, which are estimated to be worth 12 million euros.

Specifically, eight units owned by the company "Majestic Konstruksion" sh.pk, with a total construction area of ​​2795 m2, have been seized. The partner of this company, Nazmi Shahini, according to the announcement, turns out to be a person related to the subject of the property proceeding, JD. Also, a plot of land with an area of ​​300 m2 on the beach of Durrës owned by Shahini has been seized.

The court has ordered the seizure of six properties jointly owned by Elvis Doçi, also known as Visi i Pojës, and his wife. According to the announcement, Doçi was seized from two units in Durrës with a total area of ​​312 m2; a basement with a surface area of ​​20 m2; and three other properties also in Durrës, with a total area of ​​133 m2.

Four properties of considerable value in Durrës have been seized from other people associated with Doçi - four plots of land with a total area of ​​2071 m2, where there are three buildings with areas of 500 m2, 54.52 m2 and 52 m2, respectively.

Also, a plot of land with an area of ​​282.5 m2 and a building with an area of ​​248 m2 located in Durrës, which is owned by citizens EZ and KJ, has been seized.

The investigation against members of this criminal organization, which was described by the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, as one of the most dangerous in the country, has been registered for the criminal offenses of "Drug trafficking", committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group" and "Laundering of the products of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

SPAK explains that it is continuing the property investigation for all subjects of this criminal investigation.

Through a joint conference held on May 21, SPAK prosecutors, the Bari Prosecutor's Office in Italy and representatives of the State Police declared the crackdown on this international drug trafficking organization based in Durrës. The joint investigation was conducted during the period 2020-2025 and concluded with the assignment of personal security measures for 52 people in Albania and Italy. According to the prosecutor's office, the illegal activity of this organization has been documented in Albania, in Puglia and throughout Italy, in Germany and the Netherlands, as well as in Latin American countries from where the cocaine-type narcotic substance was obtained.

The Special Court has issued 29 “prison arrest” security measures in Albania, including against Elvis Doçi, otherwise known as “Visi i Pojës” and suspected of being one of the leaders of the organization. Doçi, who has been nicknamed “Visi i Pojës” due to his family connection with Xhevdet Troplini, escaped arrest during the May 21 operation and is wanted. Meanwhile, 22 security measures have also been issued in Italy against other members of the organization.

According to SPAK, the investigations have documented 30 episodes of drug trafficking in Italy and 10 other cases in Albania and other European countries. Data from SKY ECC applications were also used to carry out this investigation.

Also, 30 transactions of sending money from Italy to Albania worth around 5 million euros have been documented. The seized assets and cash values ​​were said to be worth around 7 million euros.
