Tragedy in France/ Plane crashes, 3 people die

A private flight ended in tragedy on Friday afternoon (27.6.2025), after a small plane crashed in the French town of Sanfol, near Chartres, in western France, about 90 kilometers southwest of Paris.

According to local authorities, all three people on board the plane were killed. The prefecture announced that the plane crashed in a residential area but “did not hit a house.” The only material damage was recorded to a parked car.

The victims are two men and a woman. Their ages have not yet been released. The plane belonged to the Chartres Metropolitan Airport flying club.

Following the accident, traffic in the area was stopped and a traffic diversion was put in place. The competent authorities have launched an investigation into the causes of the accident.
