48-year-old man blackmailed with intimate videos: Pay every month, or we'll

A 48-year-old man from Thumana has fallen victim to an online sexual blackmail scheme.

He exchanged intimate material with a person who was introduced to him from Elbasan and was then threatened and forced to send sums of money to prevent the video from being published.

According to the citizen's testimony, the story began with a simple message on Messenger, from a girl who had been introduced to him from Elbasan and was 38 years old. The communication was initially friendly, but later she started sending intimate videos and encouraged the citizen to do the same.

"I told her I was married and had three children, but she wouldn't stop. She would text me for hours on end, until one day, to put me at ease, I sent her an intimate video of myself," the 48-year-old recounts.

From that moment on, everything changed. The threatening messages began. They demanded money in exchange for not publishing the video on social networks or distributing it to the complainant's relatives and friends. "So far, I have given him 400 euros. He has also asked me for another 200 euros a month, on the grounds that he needed it for his sick sister," he says, while indicating that he made the payments through money transfer services abroad.

The contact number that sends him messages has the international prefix +22, which belongs to Ivory Coast, in West Africa. The victim says he deleted the conversations from Messenger because his wife and children also use the phone, as he is the only one with internet access in the family. But the messages on WhatsApp continue to arrive daily, demanding money and threatening to distribute the video.

"I know I made a big mistake. I was an example to my family and the village. But now I can't sleep, I can't eat. I go into the bathroom and cry loudly, I don't know who to tell. I'm very scared, but I have no money left," he says in despair.

With the help of journalists from the investigative show "Fiks Fare", the citizen has filed a report with the Cybercrime Section of the Tirana Police Directorate. Meanwhile, authorities are following procedures to identify the perpetrators and block the further dissemination of the intimate content./TCH
