Don't cover your baby's stroller on hot days like these, here's

With the arrival of high temperatures during the summer, many parents try to protect their babies from the sun by covering the stroller with a cloth or scarf.

Although the intention is good, this action can have serious consequences for the child's health.

Experts warn that covering the stroller impedes air circulation and creates a "greenhouse" effect, significantly increasing the temperature inside it.

Even a lightweight material, like cotton gauze, can heat the stroller dangerously.

A test conducted in Sweden showed that, on hot days, the temperature inside a covered stroller can reach up to 34°C after just half an hour.

In extreme cases, if it is 25°C outside, the temperature inside the stroller can exceed 40°C.

Pediatrician Svante Norgren from Astrid Lindgren Hospital in Stockholm emphasizes that babies cannot regulate their body temperature like adults, through sweating.

As a result, they are more vulnerable to overheating, which can cause serious brain damage and even fatal heat stroke.

What should parents do?

1. Do not cover the stroller with ordinary fabrics – only use special covers that allow air circulation.

2. Avoid going out during the hottest hours of the day – from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

3. Don't put a hood on your baby - the head is the main area for temperature regulation.

4. Wear light and breathable clothing – thin, light-colored clothes

5. Remove your socks – your feet help to naturally cool the body.

6. Make sure the child is well hydrated – offer water or milk more often during the day.

Care on hot days is essential for the health of little ones. A simple, but unconscious action can turn into a serious risk to the baby's life./ TAR
