The Head of Organization in the DP, Klevis Balliu, has denounced the capture of the state by the Hajrës and Troplins and the inaction of SPAK against organized crime.

Statement by the Head of Organization at the Democratic Party, Klevis Balliu:

If there is one name that is enough to understand the deplorable state of justice in Albania, it is Altin Hajri, one of the darkest figures in the world of organized crime in the country, declared wanted 'by letters' by SPAK.

In reality, he continues his activity freely and unhindered.

Despite being officially wanted for involvement in serious criminal offenses, Altin Hajri, using his wife's name and signature, obtains construction permits through which he launders criminal proceeds and amasses millions.

It is the same person who, as SKY EÇ's communications reveal, has directly influenced the compilation of the lists of Socialist Party deputies in Durrës. Altin Hajri 'raised' Ergys Çyrbe from fifth place to third. This was the reward for the fact that Çyrbe had hidden him while he was wanted for a murder he is suspected of having committed.

SPAK, which has declared the man wanted, can't it notice that the woman is doing 'business' without being disturbed?

In the last elections, SPAK sent 'task forces' to 12 districts with great fanfare, but found nothing, no vote buying, no pressure, no files awaiting arrests.

Even arrest warrants for another 'godfather' in Durrës, the well-known Troplini, were issued after the elections ended.

Today Ergys Cyrbja is in prison, but crime has other representatives in the Socialist Party. Therefore, even the money of crime is not touched, but they are allowed channels to clean it, as is the case with Hajri's construction wife.

This is an alarming situation for national security.

It is precisely these cases, Altin Hajri and Troplini – that show that crime is not simply a problem in Albania. Crime is a parallel power structure, supported and nurtured by the government and the captured justice system.

The Democratic Party strongly denounces this open collaboration between organized crime and political power. We call on Albanian citizens, international institutions and strategic partners not to remain silent in the face of this dangerous process of criminalization of the Albanian state.
