"Scandalous Renaissance Tourism"/ Blushi: EU Environment Agency declares 84% of swimming waters polluted!

"Scandalous Renaissance Tourism"/ Blushi: EU Environment Agency

The Secretary General of the Freedom Party has raised another concern related to tourism today.

In a statement to the media, Blushi brought to attention the European Environment Agency Report, which according to him shows the bitter reality that propaganda can no longer cover: only 16% of the waters in Albania are suitable for swimming with excellent quality, while 84% are polluted waters.

Blushi states that the main responsibility lies with the government, which according to him has turned into a government of monstrous fraud and abuse that has sunk Albania into a black record.

Blushi's full statement

The shocking report by the European Environment Agency shows the bitter reality that propaganda can no longer cover: only 16% of the waters in Albania are suitable for swimming with excellent quality, while 84% are a national shame and a risk to public health, polluted waters just like Edi Rama's personal hygiene and like this government that stinks and has taken the breath away of honest and patriotic Albanians.

The tourist infrastructure continues to be in a scandalous state, services are lacking, and local government has turned into a vicious circle of patronage, incompetence, and abuse.

At the height of the tourist season, Albania is experiencing its darkest moment of the decade in this field, with every tourist operator, from the Alps to Ksamil, complaining of a drastic drop in the number of visitors and profits.
Serious companies are leaving one after another.

The most tragic case of the malaise of this sector and the failure of tourism is Vlora, the symbolic city of Albanian tourism, which is drowning in thirst.

There has been no drinking water for weeks, because the water company has turned into a den of patronage crooks who receive illegal salaries but are unable to turn on a tap with drinking water for the numerous citizens and tourists.

This is the reality of "Rilindja", which in three mandates could not guarantee either drinking water or water for washing, but which is also rendering the seas, lakes and rivers unusable, as the European Environment Agency itself states.

Retirees no longer think about the coast, because they barely survive on miserable pensions that barely last the day, let alone the month.

In this total chaos, Edi Rama has the audacity to continue his deceptions with banal propaganda, selling Rinas passengers or those crossing the border to go to Kosovo as tourists.

In Albania, tourism is dying, people are becoming poorer, while Edi Rama continues to share national wealth like loot with oligarchs and his "strategic" clients.

Instead of being used by local communities, these assets have been given as concessions to political clients, turning them into sources of profit for a minority closely linked to corrupt and criminal interests in power.

It is time for reflection and action. Albania needs a clear and concrete plan to save tourism and with it, the country's economic future.

Tourism, as one of the most important sectors of the national and family economy, deserves more attention for the sustainable development of areas with wonderful natural resources and of all of Albania.

Tourism is not just luxury hotels and 5-star resorts, but first and foremost it is the hospitable family guesthouses with organic cuisine and products in every season, which should be supported by the state, it is the precious cultural heritage that deserves to be promoted, it is the coasts, the fabulous mountains and rivers and all the national natural assets, which instead of generating income for Albanian families, are misused by concessionaires.

SPAK takes the head of the Public Procurement Commission, Jonaid Myzyri, as a defendant.

"It is time to reflect on the necessity to breathe life into this vital sector for the economy, through a concrete, clear and efficient plan, which would also curb the country's depopulation, restoring hope for sustainable development and a secure future."
