"Unacceptable for a NATO country", Media: National Security Council no longer meets

"Unacceptable for a NATO country", Media: National Security Council no

Former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, commented on the rising tensions between the US and Iran.

Speaking on A2 CNN, Mediu said that there is naturally a need for a deep internal analysis in Albania, "to see what are the risks that threaten us and the measures that need to be taken."

"We need to conduct a coordinated analysis, which comes as information from intelligence sources, from partner services and Albanian institutions, to see what are the risks that threaten us and the measures that need to be taken ," said Mediu.

According to him, the National Security Council should have convened.

" The National Security Council only has the right to advise, but it no longer meets to advise. It is unacceptable that a NATO member country does not have a structure for analyzing security issues periodically and permanently. Especially considering the problems in the Balkans, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the problems in the Middle East, we should conduct periodic analysis and not watch American television and say what President Donald Trump likes ," Mediu declared.
