An arsenal of weapons has been discovered by the Police in Kosovo.

It was the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, who said that during raids carried out in a village in Zveçan, authorities found "an arsenal of weapons", which, according to him, would be sufficient "for a terrorist unit".

Sveçla said that during the raids in Vallaq, Zveçan, rocket launchers, hand grenades, grenade launchers, as well as various types of weapons and ammunition were found.

“According to the information I have received, heavy weaponry was found in a facility belonging to politician [Serbian Democracy party leader] Aleksandar Arsenijevic,” Svečla said, without providing any evidence to support this claim.


In various parts of Kosovo, including the northern part, inhabited by a Serb majority, authorities have from time to time found weapons of various types, REL reports.

In May, authorities said they had found a weapons factory in North Mitrovica, and during the operation, it was reported that various quantities of weapons and weapon parts were seized.
