Criminal group busted in Belgium, 10 Albanians among those arrested

Belgian authorities have cracked down on a criminal organization, arresting 15 people, including 10 Albanians.

Police conducted searches in several buildings in Kortrijk, Menen, Harelbeke, Waregem, Werwick, Mouscron, Asse, Machelen, Antwerp, Ronse, Ledeberg, Verviers, Engis and Brussels.

The organization used intermediaries to arrange vehicles and cell phone numbers.

Guards, often without documents, guarded the plantations, while forged documents provided additional camouflage. In total, more than 3,200 plants were found. Forensic experts analyzed all traces, which included 4.8 kilograms of marijuana, three cars, prohibited weapons and cash.

Bank accounts and cryptocurrencies were frozen.
