Cannabis in drainage canals, 48-year-old arrested in Fier

A 48-year-old man in Fier has been arrested after being caught red-handed taking care of cannabis sativa plants.

His father, 77 years old, was also prosecuted. During the search, 1 firearm, 2 combs, and 14 live ammunition were found and seized.

"During the checks, in the place called "Fields of Povelçë village", the services of the Fier Police Commissariat found 1,000 suspected cannabis plants cultivated.

During the intervention by the Police services, citizen E. Gj., 48 years old, resident of Pojan, was caught red-handed while taking care of narcotic plants. He was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons and ammunition".

In connection with this case, criminal proceedings were also initiated against the father of citizen E. Gj., citizen E. Gj., 77 years old, suspected of being involved in this criminal activity.

During the search of the apartment, the Police services found and seized 1 firearm, a pistol, 2 combs and 14 live ammunition.

"The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning ," the police announced.
