DP: Irregularities in the voting process by the Diaspora, the responsibility of

The Democratic Party denounced a series of irregularities found by the CEC's verification of envelopes received from the Diaspora.

Through a statement by the spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Office at the blue headquarters, Genta Vangjeli, says that according to official data, a significant portion of ballots received through the postal operator DHL do not contain the regular signatures required by the legal framework.

She adds that postal delivery sheets filled with the same handwriting have been identified, which raises serious doubts about meeting the legal conditions for the validity of the vote from the Diaspora.

Full statement:

Following the latest developments and the ongoing verifications by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on voting envelopes received from the Diaspora, we continue to express our serious concern about the way this process has been handled and administered.

According to official data, a significant portion of ballots received through the postal operator DHL do not contain the regular signatures required by the legal framework.

Specifically, numerous cases have been found where, instead of the signature of every voter from the Diaspora, the following have been found and established:

visa,

point,

initials,

other symbols, without any identifying value,

or endless cases where any form of signature from the voter is completely missing.

Also, postal delivery sheets filled with the same handwriting have been identified, which raises serious doubts about the fulfillment of the legal conditions for the validity of the vote by the Diaspora, because the Electoral Code provides that the receipt of the vote by international mail had to be done, (i) individually, (ii) at the voter's registered address with the CEC, and (iii) with a signature after presenting a means of identification.

The evidence that the CEC itself has brought shows a very large number of cases where these three (3) legal elements were NOT met for the Diaspora vote: Consequently, those votes are not valid, are illegal and nullify the Diaspora process.

Sources from the CEC have stated that no payment will be made to DHL for those envelopes that do not contain proper signatures. In the meantime, several fundamental questions arise that require public clarification:

Why did the CEC not undertake the verification of signatures earlier, despite repeated requests from representatives of the Democratic Party, including during the period during which the complaints were being reviewed by the KAS?

Why hasn't the full list of deliveries for each Diaspora country been made transparent, as has been officially requested since May 15th?

Why was evidence from countries with large numbers of voters, such as the US, the UK, Germany and Italy, which leads in terms of the number of voters (91,210), made available only after the KAS body had dismissed most of the DP's complaints?

It is unacceptable for the CEC to be 'reminded' of DHL's contractual violations only after it has been assured that these problems will no longer influence the decision-making of the appeals institutions.

This action cannot be considered a mere coincidence. For weeks, both the CEC and DHL have refused to make the practices of delivering envelopes from the Diaspora transparent, preventing electoral entities from accessing basic documentation of the process.

Today, when the CEC declares non-payment to DHL for breach of contract, we publicly demand that this institution provide clear answers for:

Measures taken in real time by the CEC administration to guarantee the legality of the process;

The reasons for the lack of response, despite frequent and documented warnings from our political entity;

Transparency and integrity of elections are the foundation of democracy.

The responsibility for their protection falls primarily on the CEC, as the institution that administers this process.

Let's enlighten Albanians, clarify Albanians, motivate Albanians that technical government and free elections should be our battle with all our potential.

So, in the face of this propaganda completely controlled by the government and paid for by the government, we present facts and documents every day that prove, prove to Albanians what happened on May 11 and in the electoral campaign in Albania.

So, that's our goal.
