Rinderpest/ A new outbreak appears in Shkodra, 200 sheep affected

A new outbreak of small cattle plague has been confirmed today in the Municipality of Shkodra.

It is learned that the outbreak was identified on a farm in the village of Trush, where about 200 sheep have been affected, which are expected to be destroyed to curb the spread.

This constitutes the second outbreak of the disease in this municipality, after the one discovered earlier in the village of Postribë.

The first case of plague was detected on June 6 in the northern areas of the country, while other outbreaks have been detected later. What makes the current situation more worrying is the fact that, unlike previous cases where the disease mainly affected goats, this time sheep have been infected.

To curb further spread, it is announced that the village of Trush has been placed in quarantine as of today, while any movement of livestock in and out of the area is prohibited.
