Berisha: Citizens have requested a vote recount, we are checking the legitimacy

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has commented on the process of recounting the votes of May 11.

Berisha said that it was the citizens who requested the recount, while the opposition is questioning its legitimacy.

Berisha said that the DP will investigate what farce took place on May 11.

"The issue of vote counting is a request of the candidates supported by the DP for transparency. At least this is the 5th time that I have explained it to you. It is not a primary request of the DP, no. No and no. Let everyone be clear. The DP's request has to do with the legitimacy of the elections and I can tell you that there are three main lines of control that we carry out.

First, the cameras that have repeatedly discovered the Bulgarian train. They have revealed the most ugly acts that brand the farce as a completely illegal process.

The second is the administration of the voting center, the administration of the ballot box, voting materials, and voting minutes.

And third, they are fulfilling the demands of our candidates who have their own claims and we can never fail to support transparency.

So let's be clear, I believe we have done the greatest thing because we have documented every day here in front of you and will continue to document what an ugly farce took place on May 11th.

For the DP, the vote died before it entered the ballot box. The ugly acts created are all pre-prepared, they are not there 'ex tempore'. I must make a distinction for every citizen, what is the counting of votes for candidates and what is the control of the legitimacy of the process. They are completely different things", declared Berisha.
