The candidate of the DP-ASHM coalition for Berat, Lefter Maliqi, is convinced that if he had requested the opening of the ballot boxes, he would have created problems.

In a Facebook post, Maliqi writes that his complaint would not bring additional mandates but only trafficked votes.

He also accuses the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, of being at the forefront of the electoral massacre.

" Dear friends, I did not request the opening of the ballot boxes and a recount in the Berat District, as I did not want to create problems, since the only one who was violated and fought against from all sides was me.

My appeal would not bring additional mandates but only trafficked votes. I am proud and grateful for the 5222 votes I received in Berat District, which translates into a safe mandate as a Deputy, but the corrupt system with closed lists gave some incompetents mandates nationwide. These were votes of blood, toil, sacrifice and sweat, coming out among the 25 most voted for Opposition members and 2nd from the Freedom Party nationwide after President Ilir Meta. Electoral massacre, buying, manipulation, the 'Bulgarian train', threats, forgiveness of fines, pensioner bonuses, criminals in the campaign, etc., do not allow political rotation because gangs, crime are one with the Government.

The recount in Elbasan yesterday and today in Tirana and continuing in Durrës and Fier shows that hundreds of enumerators should be arrested, but the SPAKU of Rilindja is part of the aiding and abetting massacre, together with Celibashi, severely damaging democracy, the rule of law and favoring electoral crime and the Government of scandals. Time to show them the country with deeds!" , writes Maliqi.
