Albanian woman was killed by ex-husband, brother: She had reported him for

A few days after Albanian Gentiana Hudhra was stabbed to death in a park by her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, new details have come to light.

Italian media reports that in 2021, Gentiana had denounced her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, 55, for two episodes of violence during their cohabitation.

Gentiana's brother, Artur Kopili, who arrived from Albania in Tolentino after his sister's murder, also spoke about his sister's relationship with her ex-husband, saying that they knew about the concerns between them.

"Everyone knew about this situation. My sister had reported her ex-husband a few years ago, but no one intervened," he said. He and other family members attended the memorial event in the square where the murder took place.

However, the Macerata prosecutor's office requested and obtained the closure of the investigation into the case in December of that year. In January 2022, after 20 years of marriage, the couple, married since January 8, 2002, formally separated.

The lawyer who defended Gentian at that time, Guglielmo De Luca, told the media that Nikollaq Hudhra had the fixed idea that she was poisoning him, and had even placed a chain on the refrigerator at home.

"He had the fixed idea that she was poisoning him. At home, he had put a chain on the refrigerator. Before the separation, he had changed the door lock to keep her away. Then, thanks to two requests, he allowed her to return, but forced her to sleep in a small room on a sofa. I told her to leave that man, but she waited because of concern for the children," her lawyer said.

The couple lived in Italy with their two sons, Mario and Samuel, 21 and 23 years old. After a few years in Belforte, they moved to Tolentino. After the separation, Nikollaqi moved about two years ago to Passignano sul Trasimeno, where he worked on a local farm.

His employers describe him as a punctual employee, but he had recently exhibited strange behavior.

"He is a good employee, very accurate and punctual. The work is tiring and rarely does anyone stay that long. Recently he had been exhibiting strange behavior, but no one could have imagined such an outcome. It is unbelievable," he told the media.
