The court hearing scheduled for this Tuesday for Ervin Salianji has been postponed.

Salianji had requested conditional release after serving two-thirds of his prison sentence, but the hearing was postponed due to the failure to submit the report from the Fier Prison Accountability Institution (PIV).

Salianji has been in Fier prison since September 27, 2024. He was convicted on charges of "false reporting" in the "Babale" file, after the public denunciation of the brother of the former Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj.

Salianji and the Democratic Party have described this sentence as a political decision dictated by the ruling majority.
