The recount of May 11 votes begins today in 4 municipalities, where are mandates

A total of 2,323 polling stations, including 85 out-of-country ballot boxes, will open today to recount votes from the May 11 parliamentary elections.

The recount process will be carried out at the "Fahrie Hoti" stadium for the municipalities of Tirana, Fier, Elbasan and Durrës.

Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi explained a day ago that the recount will be carried out by 24 counting groups, with 63 administration employees.

TIRANA

The second mandate of the "Mundësia" party is being discussed, which if lost will pass to the DP, and will end up with 14 deputies. If 1200 votes are cast in favor of the DP, Erald Kapri will not enter parliament, but Ilir Alimehmeti.

Durres

In Durrës, Aulon Kalaja is in a counting race with former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja.

Adriatik Lapaj's "Albania Becomes" coalition lost its mandate by about 500 votes. If the recount gives Adriatik Lapaj's party an advantage, then Azmer Dulević becomes an MP and takes the mandate from the SP, leaving out Zegjine Çauşi.

The open ballot boxes in  Peqin  and  Gramsh  are not expected to affect the result.

As for the candidates, the narrowest margin of victory for the Democratic candidates in Tirana is between  Jorida Tabaku  and  Ilir Alimehmeti , as the elected MP has an advantage of 2,400 votes.

Among the Socialists, the narrowest margin is between  Olta Xhaçka  and  Blerina Gjylamenti . The former minister has an advantage of 140 votes.

On the other hand,  Xhemal Qefalia  is 500 votes away from  Ornaldo Rakipi , who emerged the winner.
