Arbnor Spahiu still in Serb hands, parents of former police officer call on

The parents of former Kosovo police officer Arbnor Spahiu have requested international assistance in their son's case.

They say their son is currently in detention in Serbia, on the basis of an unjust and baseless accusation.

"We appeal to international institutions, human rights organizations and public opinion not to remain silent in the face of this injustice. Every person deserves a fair and honest trial - and this is not happening in the case of Arbnor. We will continue to seek his justice through legal and institutional means, with the belief that the truth cannot be denied," the parents of the former Kosovo police officer arrested in Serbia said in a statement.

They explain that Arbnor Spahiu resigned from his job on November 1, 2022 and has been living in Germany since then.

Spahiu was arrested by Serbian authorities on June 7 on suspicion of committing murder in the Banjska case, where three Serbs also lost their lives.
