Gattuso appointed new Italy national team coach

Gennaro Gattuso has been officially appointed as the new coach of the Italian national team. The president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Gabriele Gravina, described him as “a symbol of Italian football” and explained that his presentation will take place on Thursday in Rome, when he will officially take charge of the team.

"The Azzurri jersey is like a second skin for him. His motivation, professionalism and experience will be essential for facing the future challenges of the National Team. Aware of the importance of the objective we want to achieve, I thank him for the willingness and dedication with which he accepted this challenge."

"He fully shares the FIGC's project for the overall development of our football, with the Azzurri at the center of this strategic vision ," Gravina declared.

Gattuso has been one of Italy's most iconic figures. He was part of the team that won the World Cup in 2006 and has 73 caps for the national team as a player. Gattuso has also managed several well-known clubs such as Milan, Napoli, Valencia, Olympique Marseille and most recently Hajduk Split.
