Belgian tourist had an accident with a Jet Ski, the 51-year-old man who rented

The owner of the Jet Ski that crashed into a Belgian tourist on Gjipe beach has been arrested.

According to the police, S. Xh., 51, rented the boat to the foreign tourist even though the latter did not have a driving license. Among other things, the 51-year-old made a false statement about the case.

The tourist is in the Trauma Hospital after suffering injuries to his leg and back.

"Crime Investigation Specialists of the Plazh Police Station arrested in flagrante delicto citizen S. Xh., 51 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offenses of "Violation of safety rules at work" and "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth."

From the investigative actions carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, for the event that occurred yesterday, in the area called "Shkëmbi i Kavajës", it resulted that citizen S. Xh. has rented a Jet Ski, without the necessary safety measures, to Belgian citizen HK, who is not equipped with a driving license for this category of vehicles. Also, citizen S. Xh., during the performance of procedural actions, has provided false information about the case.

The HK citizen, who was injured during maneuvers with the floating vehicle, continues to be in the hospital, under the care of doctors.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action," the police announced.
