Bardhi clashes with Spiropali: Close the Parliament to have lunch in Greece

The plenary session has begun in the Parliament. MP Gazment Bardhi clashed with the Speaker of the Parliament Elisa Spiropali, after the latter canceled the previous session due to a summit in Ukraine.

Bardhi addressed Spiropali, saying that he had lied by closing the Parliament to have lunch in Greece. The Democrat accused Spiropali of treating the Parliament as her personal home.

Bardhi: You told us you have a very important engagement in Ukraine, but on Thursday you were not in Ukraine but in Greece. Treating the Assembly as your personal home to have lunch in Greece, arrogance beyond normal. We have not given approval for the calendar. Keep 60 initiatives of the Assembly locked in a drawer. According to the Constitution, one of the main responsibilities of each MP is to propose legislative initiatives. You treat every initiative of the Council of Ministers with priority, but you do not treat those of the MPs, mainly those of the opposition. Only 3 weeks from the closing of the Assembly, we still do not have a plan for when the MPs' initiatives will be reviewed in the session. I ask you to plan when our initiatives that are related to the interest of citizens, such as the living minimum, the increase in pensions, the law on investment control in Albania, will be reviewed.

Spiropali: I am glad that you are following me step by step, but the session was not postponed for my participation in the summit, but many MPs were absent in other activities. Albania was represented at the highest and best level, and I say this without any modesty. Now follow me on social networks.
