Albanian Ambassador recounts the situation in Israel: Shocking, we are living

The Ambassador of Albania to Israel, Meri Kumbe, spoke about the current situation in Tel Aviv.

In a live link to "Top Story", Kumbe showed that they continue their work from home and follow the instructions of the Israeli army.

"Very long days and nights, awake, with many emotions. But, on duty. For the citizens here, I think it will be an experience that will remain in their minds for the rest of their lives. Very shocking, but they had to live it, we are all living it together."

We are locked in our apartments, we communicate via WhatsApp and email, today we gathered for a few minutes at the embassy, we found a space near the security room, but all these days we have been working from home.

The city is on hold, the streets are completely empty, hospitals have been cleared for emergencies with extraordinary discipline. The only structures that are working are essential ones like supermarkets, bakeries and pharmacies. Schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, gyms, everything is closed because there should be no gatherings of people. The first day reminded me of the pandemic, when people rushed to the supermarket, despite the fact that we had previously been instructed to have supplies for 72 hours, water, canned goods, dry food.

The Israeli army itself has taken care to be the communication channels, for example, just before we made contact we were asked to be near the security zone. Which means that ballistic missiles may be headed towards Israel and the moment the sirens sound, we must immediately enter the security zones.

"There are 40,000 tourists right now in Israel waiting to be evacuated. They are stuck in the places where they were on vacation."
