Bardhi criticizes SPAK in Strasbourg, asks questions to the EC: Do we need

The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has raised the role of SPAK in the May 11 elections as a main concern at the Stabilization and Association Committee in Strasbourg.

During his speech, Bardhi raised the question of whether SPAK has taken concrete actions in the elections or only has nice strategies on paper. On the other hand, Bardhi also quoted Prime Minister Rama who, according to him, has requested that the work of the SPAK task force be stopped during the elections.

"You talked about the task force set up by SPAK for the elections, it is true, but on February 20, Prime Minister Rama, in a media appearance, asked the special prosecution to immediately stop its action on the ground and I want to quote him:

"If you are monitoring political parties, immediately stop monitoring parties and party activities. You cannot violate the rights of the government and put pressure on the public administration. I hope it is a momentary error," was the prime minister's statement.

From this moment, from February 20, 2025, shortly before the elections until the end, it resulted that not only were SPAK prosecutors no longer seen in the field for electoral crimes, but there were no results to prevent electoral crimes. If we take the results of these investigations in 2030, it does not help either in influencing or in preventing electoral crimes.
My question to the European Commission is, "Do we need concrete results or do we need to have beautiful strategies on paper that may have a positive purpose, but in reality do not bring anything? " - said Bardhi in his speech.
